þBuilding Blocks provides CACFP approved meals to all students.   Meals are served family style and meet Department of Health guidelines.  Children with special dietary needs will be served CACFP approved substitutes.

þWhile each person’s for  reason for volunteering differ, volunteers have a common interest.  They have announced their interest in learning  about and growing with children .  Volunteers who spend one or more hours per  week at the Center are required to provide specific documentation as required by the Office of Children & Family Services.

þMany families in St. Lawrence County receive assistance with  subsidized daycare through the Child Care Unit at the Department of Social Services.  Eligibility is determined by the daycare unit.  If you would like more information on how you can apply, ask us for an application.

General Information

þBuilding Blocks has a state approved health care plan.  The plan allows for administration of Medications, care for mildly -ill children, and assurance of proper health and safety practices for all children and families. 

þSchool age children who participate in the Building Adventures School Age Program participate in a six weeks nutrition education program sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension
