Question 5: What if I decide to take my children out of daycare without informing you ahead of time? |

Building Blocks requires parents give us 2 weeks notice before withdrawing their child. Parents who fail to give 2 weeks notice will be billed for the 2 weeks. |

Yes. We are open year round. Building Blocks closes 6 days out of the year. We are closed New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Parents are expected to pay for these days. There are, however, certain days through out the year when we are unable to secure space for our school age program. Parents are made aware of these days as soon as we find out about them. Accounts are credited for these days. |

Yes, Building Blocks offers a 25% discount for the 2nd child and every child thereafter. The discount applies to the oldest children. |

Yes. Parents are expected to pay when children are absent due to illness, when parents are on vacation or when school is closed. Building Blocks does give parents whose children are enrolled full-time 5 sick/vacation day coupons to use to credit accounts when children are absent. The coupons can only be used after their child/ren have been enrolled 2 or more months. The coupons cannot be used during certain times of the year. |

Yes. Building Blocks has 3 staff who are trained and approved to administer medication. Certain requirements must be met, however, if your child needs medication during his enrollment. |

Building Blocks participates in the Child & Adult Care Food Program. As participants, we agree to provide well balanced meals and snacks for children. We are regulated and inspected by the Department of Health and the inspected by the Food Bank of Central New York and the Office of General Services. Our menus are approved by a certified dietician. In order to better served the needs of children with dietary needs, Building Blocks has developed a very strict Dietary Needs Policy. Parents who elect to provide their child’s meals must bring them to the kitchen where they can be examined for contents to ensure that children with food allergies are not exposed to potential allergens. Our policy also requires parents secure information from the attending physician in regards to food allergies and food substitutes when allergies and sensitivities are identified. |
